mergency conditions such as snakebites and poisoning remain important health concerns that may occur in school settings. Limited knowledge of first aid among student health cadres can delay emergency management and increase the risk of complications. Therefore, health education is essential to improve their knowledge and preparedness in responding to such emergencies. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge of student health cadres regarding first aid for snakebite and poisoning through health education. Methods: An educational and participatory approach with a one-group pre-test–post-test design was employed. A total of 321 student health cadres from several senior high schools and equivalent institutions in the Karawang region participated in educational sessions consisting of a pre-test, lectures, first-aid demonstrations, interactive discussions using presentation slides, leaflets, and posters, followed by a post-test. Results: The mean knowledge score increased from 12.1 to 17.6. The paired t-test demonstrated a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Health education was effective in improving the knowledge of student health cadres regarding first aid for snakebite and poisoning. This program is expected to enhance the preparedness of student health cadres in responding to emergency situations within the school environment.References
