Abstrak

Kondisi kesehatan mental termasuk depresi merupakan beban utama penyakit bagi remaja secara global. Fokus pada kesehatan mental anak dan remaja harus menjadi prioritas utama di seluruh dunia karena sebagian besar masalah kesehatan mental yang dialami oleh orang dewasa berasal dari awal kehidupan. Salah satu cara untuk mendukung kesehatan mental remaja adalah dukungan kepada anak-anak misalnya program pelatihan dan program pengembangan anak dan remaja salah satunya melalui mindfulness yang merupakan terapi kepada diri sendiri yang berfokus pada kondisi sekarang tanpa menghakimi masa lalu, masa sekarang, maupun masa depan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pngaruh mindfuness terhadap depresi remaja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain pre post test, sampel 12 remaja yang mengalami depresi di Sekolah Minggu Latuhalat, pengambian sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, analisis data menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa ada pengaruh mindfulness terhadap penurunan tingkat depresi remaja. Bagi pembaca pada umumnya dan bagi tenaga kesehatan pada khususnya kiranya artikel ini dapat menjadi pedoman untuk mengatasi depresi remaja melalui mindfulness.
